It’s Spring!!

It’s Spring and that means lots going on around here. Mostly in the yard and garden. Which means not as much stitching.
I struggle with that, as I want to be gardening and stitching, but if I garden all day, I am too tired to stitch or hook at night.

Here are a few shots from the garden....

Prudence is hooked and up for blocking and binding.

She was a joy to hook, but I didn’t make a dent in my worm baskets.
Next scrappy rug up is First Grade Flowers....

The flowers(blue), centers (gold), and stems/leaves(green) will all be from the worm baskets. The background is the leftover white plaid (cotton) from Prudence.

There has been some xstitch and wool applique as well, but no pics...later.

I celebrated a birthday this month...

This photo was from DGD’s IG post. Got to love that sweet girl.
Then my Sister celebrated, as well.

This was our first family event with my sister since Covid as she resides in an assisted living facility. We are all vaccinated now.

So that’s it for now.

Take Care,
Jennie

  1. Yeah, certainly got that message with less time to hook due to grass cutting. I'm trying desperately to work at pulling weeds especially at the front of the property which neighbors see. Problem is I can't do more than an hour at a time because of my arthritis and the bending over with scoliosis.
Prudence is gorgeous and what makes it so is the jewel tone you gave it with similar colors but varying values.
Macey looks like a wonderful grounded young lady. Great role models and parenting I'd say.

  2. Oh Jennie love the hooked flowers thus far. Alas our Spring flowers are covered in snow now. Janice

  3. Even with all your gardening (BEAUTIFUL flowers!) you are still accomplishing so much whether you think so or not.
Great finish on Prudence and you are off to a terrific start on First Grade Flowers.
What a sweet post from Macy and wonderful you finally got to see your sister!!!

  4. Happy Belated Birthday. I'm glad that you got to see your sister.
What a sweet granddaughter and her lovely photo of you and her. Your rug looks like a water color. So beautiful and your gorgeous flowers are so ahead of mine. Only my crocuses and daffodils and what is left of my white Aubretia are blooming. The mice or moles ate most of them but thankfully left a tiny patch for me.

    Hugs, Julia
