I have been waiting till the first of the year to start this challenge, set in motion by
Quilty Folk. You choose a fabric daily and applique a simple (or complex) circle to your background. It is a calendar of sorts, meant to show something about your year based on your fabric choices. Most people make it their own in some way. I have chopped up a variety of backgrounds (mostly from old tone on tones which don't seem to end up in other quilts anymore) so that I won't have to scramble for those daily. My circles will be from fabrics that I consider either whimsical or novelty. A bit out of the box for me, but an interesting challenge. Here are my first two days....
A GA Bulldog made from scraps leftover from a pillowcase I made for my grandson at Christmas.
No clue where I got this fabric, but she makes me smile.
This is the little kit I have put together to hopefully help me stay organized. And, yes, it is in a recycled Wet Swiffer container. They are free, sturdy and even have lids....nice size, too.
Clues 1 & 2 of Allietaire are done....
I am reading this....
I always like to start the year with some fresh ideas on simpler living. Some I embrace, some not, but it is refreshing to think about ways to make positive change.
So me lately....
Take care,
Jennie
What a fun project Quilty 365 will be!

I think you say "Go Dawgs"! I have a friend originally from the Atlanta area and she says that quite often.
