Slow Stitching Today

As usual, I have waited until the last minute to stitch my April Flowers block.

I also got a few other things accomplished including a little yard work. It was a beautiful day to be out there.

My sister celebrated a birthday this month.

Last week was tough.......memories of Rob and the loss of one of our Crazies.

My Goodness!!!

April is almost done and I have only posted once. I really intend to do better; I like to blog and I don’t want to give it up. Resolve....blog more intentionally.

Here’s what happened at Sew Crazies this month....

Sandy’s cousins from North Dakota and South Dakota visited she and Luella, and were able to join us for a day of stitching.

Luella was able to be back with us.

We worked on a QOV that Debi did prep work on it in order to get us started. Did I mention that she is amazing?..and that we are so fortunate to have her as a Crazy???

I was the official presser.

Sandra was the overachiever this month.

These cute items were among the many things that she made for a bazaar.

And she made this stash buster quilt, quilting it with her embroidery machine!

Debi finished this cute quilt, including getting the quilting done.

And I got the row quilt done to flimsy stage. It looks kind of weird with the light shining behind it. So far I have met my goal of finishing a quilt top per month in 2018. They don’t have to be UFOs, but this one had become one. I love it and am thrilled that the top is now finished.

Sara Ashley had prom this month....

He Arose!!!

Happy Easter!!!

Rob is spending his first Easter at the foot of his Savior. Christi and Robert put Iris from his grandmother’s bulbs at his cross yesterday.

Won’t be slow stitching today, as we have our blended families for our traditional Easter lunch and egg hunt here. I did, however, get a few more diamonds glued up for Glorious Gardens. Linking up 

with Slow Stitching Sunday.

All of the green nine patches are finished and put away.

And lots more lights are cut in anticipation of this month’s yellows and golds. Linking up here.


A bald eagle was spotted by my friend just down the road from our house. I had seen one once several years ago. Hope I have the opportunity to see this one.

Sara Ashley was chosen to serve the Coweta Community Foundation. So proud of the young woman she is becoming!





Jackson’s baseball team won first in their tournament on Saturday. Go Force!!!

Flowers Block 3

It’s the end of the month, but at least not the final day!!

Block 3 of the Flowers quilt is a wrap. 

I must admit that it was a bit more difficult than the others and took me awhile longer to stitch, but I think that it was worth it.

Here are the First three blocks together. Sorry the photo is a bit wonky, but you can see where I am going with it.....reds, teals, greens and golds. My favorite palette.

Slow Stitching

Today was a good day for slow stitching(linking up
here

 )and that is just what I did this chilly Sunday afternoon.

I had prepped this block 

And even started stitching yesterday. Despite a lot of hours, I am still at it. It required more work than my last two, but I a starting to feel a little more confident with my needleturn appliqué.


This is my EPP teacher, Mary Lou. She is showing her progress on this year’s project, Salute to Levens Hall by Kim McLean.

I am REALLY trying to finish Glorious Gardens before I start this one, but it is tempting.

RSC Post

I failed to make a post on the RSC last month, but I have been keeping up.

Last month was purple, and here is my stack of 30+ little 9 patches. Linking up 

here.

This month it is light and bright greens. My interpretation of light and bright definitely lends towards medium and dull. The strip sets are sewn and ready to be chopped up.


I have not forgotten these little Wild and Goosey blocks. I continue to add a few here and there.

This was my Bible Study helped today. Don’t be fooled by her innocent look.

No Post, Long Time

Seems that every day I intend to post, but somehow it just never happens. So, today is the day to make it happen.

Sew Crazies met in February and Debi had these two tops to share...

She is amazing. I have never known anyone who could make as many great quilts as she does.

I finally got the Temecula First Friday top done.

Now to get the backing pieced.

I am making progress on Glorious Gardens. The first three rows are set together and I am working on row three.

This is a partial view of the first three rows before the third row was entirely attached. It is going to be large....90x90.

Homespun Medallions is heading towards the finish line, but I haven’t worked on it in a couple of weeks.

Need to get busy again.

We held the Annual Can’t Never Could Dinner on Monday night. It was a great success, once again, and we raised lots of money to continue to assist those facing adversity. There was a wonderful video tribute to Rob and 

Inky Johnson was the speaker. If you have never heard of him, you need to click on the link.
