A few months ago Cee Rafuse, from Diary of a Rugmaker, generously sent me a partially finished penny rug that she knew I coveted. It was a lovely and generous surprise. I so loved the pattern and had missed buying the kit when it was available. Last week I finally finished it....Today was quilter's Mail heaven...
The new sampler box from Fat Quarter Shop, filled to the brim with wonderful things....I am delighted!!! Then, the new Quiltmania and another incredible penny rug kit from Cee (her Etsy shop is Earlystylepennyrugs....just in case, you know). What a lucky girl I am!!!
The end of the year brings lots of good things for the grands.....here are a few of Robert's highlights....
Named Student Athlete of the Week for Newnan High. Junior-Senior Prom night. Lettering in Tennis for the third year. And winning the Academic Award and Most Improved at his Tennis Awards Night. He's a great kid and I couldn't be prouder of him.
Mattie and Daisy getting a little chair time.
The penny rug turned out beautiful, no wonder you coveted it and lucky you to be the recipient. Talented young man with a bright future for sure. Love both dog photos but boy does the last one touch my heart.
ReplyDeleteThat last photo touches my heart, too. It's so lonely around here ... one day ...
ReplyDeleteLOVE your penny rug finish. How sweet of Cee. I went to order from her this morning and there is nothing in her etsy shop. I want to order the same kit that you just received and a couple of her patterns. Computer won't cooperate in sending an email, so I'll try on the iPad.
Wonderful pictures. Rob has his whole life ahead of him and I'm sure it will be a very successful one.
Happy Sunday :)
Lauren
That rug is beautiful. I love the symmetry, the calm and restful colors, and the carefully placed stitches. Congratulations to your grandson. Well done!
