Off we go!

Deste and I left Georgia behind today for our long anticipated trip to Barb Carroll's Woolley Fox for several days of rug hooking.  We flew into Baltimore and headed out towards Hagerstown, our destination for the first night.  Along the way, we stopped in historic Frederick for a yummy Mexican lunch.  Then we were off to Beaver Creek Antique Mall.  Here are some of my favorite things from there.....

I absolutely adore this sweet quilt.

Lovely quilting and appliqué.

This incredible crazy quilt made in 1906.

The church and birds were painted onto silk. The silk in this area was crumbling, but the rest of the quilt was pristine.

Love these two memorial blocks.

This pretty woven piece was new, but quite well done.

Great antique dog rugs. Look at the lamb's tongues on the bottom one.

Deste wants to make this primitive runner.

A view of one of the many fun booths.

And finishing up a busy day with hooking friend, Nada, at The Press Room in Shepherdstown, WV and delicious Italian food.

Now it is time to turn our weary bones in so that we will be prepared for another day of fun and adventures tomorrow.

GRATITUDES:
Safe journeys.
Beautiful, lush farmland.
The company of friends.

Take Care,
Jennie

  2. Very interesting crazy quilt. Too bad it was crumbling in parts. Obviously a memory quilt for someone.
