No excuses, just haven’t been here. I am not going to try to catch up. And my photos will be really random, but here goes….<div><br></div><div>Lots of cross stitching going on, but I am bad at keeping up with photos. Here are a couple of older ones:</div><div><img id="id_6886_68f7_4add_b07e" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/Q7uPMsy_bEviaaWzl4SNxtvEX18qg_LQwb_tv6Hy2rlOvJuD7VM1DiqrhfBtP99ylUA" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>Amelia Ellis 1887 by Whilst Iris Naps</div><div><br><img id="id_72e_1474_d0bc_945d" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/q-lBUhNj4JWbw7ElPFoQNMm3TlJhZir9agMeVDZsaqmE3uAOMpm6vDfhy3uqRgEI3so" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>Mary Anne Eynon 1858 by Needlework Press</div><div><br></div><div>I finished this cute Sharon Smith rug in a virtual class with Lisanne Miller. </div><div><img id="id_df87_2867_5532_413e" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/5ErM_P8j5mRyThzpliBhQJPrPrkx3O0QVO2tAgXvZs9lqjs6UWLv63YaZO8djHufAhE" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br></div><div>I have finished off some older quilts, but they are all packed away right now because our home flooded on Christmas Eve. Instead, we are having severe thunderstorms for the next couple of days. At least it will wash some of the pollen away. <div><br></div><div>Here are a couple of small finishes. Nothing earth shattering. </div><div>Just haven’t made pics of anything else, and Lauren ( <a href="https://rugsandpugs.blogspot.com/?m=1" id="id_4857_fe89_11a0_2088">Rugs and Pugs)</a>, who manages to post quite regularly, gave me a nudge. </div><div><br></div><div>This tiny penny mat was a club piece from Country Sampler’s Maggie B club many years ago. A little windy, but the sun was shining brightly. So nice to finally see the gray of the last few months lifted. There is, however, this….<div><img id="id_50a7_144a_66ec_e3f3" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/H4XnhjvQV-B3bW8Ips8nqoU0ygyTJO0m-KLPr1gMWyEEkztqZU7rJlnYV-6KXKP5XYY" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>I finally pulled the last loop on this huge runner….</div><div><img id="id_3ae_bfd9_2399_8eaf" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/CJseEdtwuc9il7IN4Kq0720CiCZshb0jsacapjVpIYckuI3k9XgAvD3bIoc-LRv7PLI" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>It still needs to be blocked and bound, but it is nice to have it off the frame. So I am going to try to blog more often and with more abandon. We’ll see how it goes. <div><br></div><div>On the cross stitch arena, I am participating in #12ornamentsin22. The hash tag is pretty obvious. An ornament a month gives you twelve lovely ornaments for your tree by the end of the year. My focus thus far has been to bolster my collection of Prairie Schooler Santas. So here you go….</div><div>January:</div><img id="id_c040_4ab4_b16d_b3aa" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/vtznrKUfleNtWTiLBN6x2xOApRwwiCSpdrtGT9ecLUWgVmJGC_GAtF6CC2skuwuHh9s" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>February <br><img id="id_e0f8_5bec_6375_7370" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/3-ARsd9rkJhoF0yvNHVW2Db-aIzmW3VaXcKKe0X5ELc64brMI7zFMB4zV-e4ZtMkK-k" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><div>Both fully finished….gasp….and ready to be tucked away until Christmas. </div><div><br></div><div>In the hooking arena, I am back to this very long, but simple, runner. Determined to get a finish here before proceeding to one of my other class projects. I have too many rugs in the works….thanks to Zoom classes with Lisanne Miller at Cushing. </div><div><img id="id_2e23_adc9_941e_3f7e" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/M5gZflbqCjLhvd_7Y-ar-TC4yP5TcCEBFwk306u1bTl7Qbt9ZcCKNlpZJIqQ8qzKUvE" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>That’s going to be it for today. As I put my decorations away, I realized they had never debuted on my blog. I know everyone is tired of seeing Fall decor, but I am going to post anyway. Just sign off if you can’t bear seeing another thing. <div><br></div><div>Skinny pillows:</div><div><img id="id_a48c_31_f170_8595" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/CKqsw-ifbKhsDiakFbTsdHfvIq9WKe-0jZS9lN77J-GetEGi5AUKiboCcjHNOfUZhLQ" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_d403_164b_2065_c596" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/EpbWmKwB_zMEIi4pfwcKSSKXNr9QSC-IjfLt_eadvDlF9BBWEHDN8XYy6EVklFCvpDQ" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_aaa0_8834_4d86_f0e6" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/952oU6fub6IUpJ2VW130BhuIHFiZuN9JC967zUvJd1OgaivgikW6jEbtYI9IokobaGk" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>These are so stinking cute that I couldn’t stop making them. Pretty much all summer, and now. I shouldn’t complain, because we generally don’t have enough. But I would like to do some yard work now that it’s cooled off. It won’t likely happen this week,as it looks as though it will continue to rain for several more days. Oh well, that means that I can stitch more. <div><br></div><div>I have finally finished First Grade Flowers. I love this rug!!</div><div><img id="id_59dd_7ac5_d3c7_df5c" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/OzT70eAONSbbxo4ZUN9Z6fj9R4kTnAlgQQlNo89T6qY2oHWwhr7RmrLE_kfbTLUIiHY" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>Everything except the background is from my worms. How did that happen? The days are getting shorter and there is the tiniest hint of Fall in the air. I can hardly wait for my favorite season to arrive. <div><br></div><div>Blake and I are busy this week helping with exhibit check ins for our county fair. Covid caused last year’s fair to be cancelled , and I feared it would be the same this year. But, alas, it is moving forward. It is fun to check in the exhibits each year and see what everyone is up to. Lots of inspiration. On Wednesday I will be on the judging team for Youth Handicrafts. Not an easy job, as they mostly work hard on their items and I hate to disappoint. </div><div><br></div><div>I have finally finished hooking Woodland Santa aside from a little tweaking of the eye on the right. </div><div><img id="id_c99a_98ee_6908_5a3b" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/bt750a_LGnGxGXvw_Oqzy-XWXEYNjgMsVi-fr3QoY7n7g7OthmQjhTe-4gOuGJwRal8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>Next comes the job of figuring out how to finish the back in order to fit him on the nice easel stand that friend Laura’s husband made. <br><br>Next up I completed the wool applique cat hanging. <br><img id="id_dbea_d0b7_c89c_9ed9" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/6EEQLNSf0kIn-1llowgYsyuYQXgCNGgc7Mc0c1OydsMt_hJKpxmLce3F0trXJfmf3Hg" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br><img id="id_b736_c35f_ab8e_cd5c" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/r4m6EczqjPtfCnsaD6qFwPKFfbZWRXsRKpDWpQmQ9QMUfpFKz8cv80KTbgOeOwU-hGY" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>I wish that I had used a flat strip of wood rather than the round dowel to make him lay flat. We had some wind and about five inches of rain, but nothing to speak of compared to other parts of the country. </div><div><br></div><div>Since “crotchiting” SA’s bag, I have been in the mood for more crochet. Nothing fancy, mind you. But my friend, Laura, and I made fall pumpkins. </div><div><img id="id_a268_8e37_32a0_244c" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/mbt2ubA8Q_g8rPEg4cnFAJUkTWYsZKOAp58ntmb2lKlP1xi9x7mO9farHe5v4QegFUU" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>They were fun and relatively easy….which is my skill level. My step grandmother taught me at age ten, though I don’t remember crocheting much more than a chain at that point. </div><div><br></div><div>I had bought this pattern and the aqua fabric for it at a Hook In many years ago. The other day, I pulled it out and started it. The pattern called for a quilt like setting with borders and fall leaves, but that didn’t much appeal to me. I had all of these circles for pennies that I had purchased at the same Hook In, so I started adding them and thought it provided a touch of whimsy. <br><img id="id_3214_4f72_ccf1_161" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/zrfrU6NJFaEBYDykaBgwhAU7cA-roYgW09hQBZWvZijMlv2QPd0Im6W4SbYRF-YGC4Y" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>I have a plan for finishing, which hopefully will happen sooner rather than later. </div><div><br></div><div>I had stitched this Quaint Lady (from the Dyeing to Stitch club) last year and just never finished it off. It has been a much cooler and wetter summer than we have seen in a very long time. I’m not complaining. <div><br></div><div>I have been thinking about what keeps me from blogging as often, and the main thing is having photos of what I am working on ready to use. I have decided that I need to be easier on myself and just use what I have. Popping in more frequently is better than a bunch of pics. And they certainly aren’t Instagram quality, but they are real. So, I will give a go at being easier on myself. </div><div><br></div><div>Here is where I am on Woodland Santa….</div><div><img id="id_7aef_fdbc_55df_c448" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/celnIWgV-26wD4NIzyQ8A_8KU6YJTO8VYt2qmoNPP36Su50aylDmDNyE0gihI-ivNgg" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>That little bit of snow beside the beard is too bright white and will have to go. No excuses, I just haven’t. I need to either blog or quit. I really don’t want to quit, so we’ll see. <div><br></div><div>I have done lots since my last post, but I will just share a little today. I really didn’t think I had enough photos to blog, but I was wrong! Here we go.....<div><br></div><div>I took a three day Zoom class with Lisanne Miller again. This time we are hooking the old Buttermold pattern, but giving it a touch of our modern ways. I love hooking this type of pattern, as it is like hooking many small patterns and you feel quite accomplished with each one. </div><div><img id="id_9cfd_9a8a_ff2a_91a0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/xoMkdmnYn68ByfBOWVDFV_ea6tN0viaEP5r9Qsqof7WQafozzgNpCUcqNYAegKUtBQ8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>My progress thus far.</div><div><img id="id_c73e_5528_6c2b_e78e" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/MukknlNjAiBfzpYtaA1ZKlQLLoqyioMiZzGiGwixqWHuU7UDYru3t7iwHqzAny7-k94" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>And a couple of close ups. Except for the backgrounds, I am hooking entirely from worms or scraps. If the wool strip is too wide, I just cut it down with my scissors. Cuts range from 4 - 8.5.</div><div><br></div><div>First grade Flowers had to be on break while I took this class.</div><div><br></div><div>Next up, I finished the Ready for Spring (Woolen Willow) top, and as soon as I make a backing it will be ready to head to the longarm quilter.</div><div><img id="id_ed84_9b61_83d6_da45" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/cTiwTiDc4ITVdUFzqJKIp75BgWOwlGQr7WGexOW7HIZjNXxI74Z5RiSVM4HaY7KEgxM" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br>As you can see, my setting is quite different from the pattern(below). For my personal taste, I just found the setting to be distracting, so I went with sweet and simple and I really like it. I finally came to several realizations...<div>1. I have too much stuff</div><div>2. I keep accumulating stuff faster than I can use it</div><div>3. As long as I can keep it reasonably tidy I still feel in control...sort of</div><div>4. I just have to learn to live with it, because I love my stuff and half the fun is acquiring it. </div><div><br></div><div>I had organized all of my wool worms into a gazillion big bags by color. I hated those bags. So I dumped all of my worms Willy nilly into not one, but two big cotton baskets. </div><div><img id="id_6d48_ef9e_31b_f033" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/x5SDbdip1FRwOjVEQ3HV6QvITY0c72rOeZ68n53ZhqRRzuWONcIrA8io2qmFVkEKLYQ" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 392px; height: auto;"><br><br>I need to make about a million scrappy rugs. I have several finishes or finished except for the fully finishing, but I can’t even seem to get them photographed to blog. So I am just going to go ahead with what I have.<div><br></div><div>First of all, Burnham 64, my scroll rug, is a finish as far as hooking.</div><div><img id="id_9042_aea1_1c4b_8a59" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/Bb8yZyNDNHK-gG5cZadYSfZsyoM1FtqN5FZ3VLhczcAd-lXs18fSyILbEfW7yk0" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 353px; height: auto;"><br>Now into the blocking and binding stack.</div><div><br></div><div>Next up for finishing is the Small Frost primitive oriental.<br><img id="id_4265_299d_d40a_9c94" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/MKbLQBB9EGI3RzJJyjWK8iNba-P4oO0uRm2DWFBU8l57HYmhPBtJwMxxCAHI9jg" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 353px; height: auto;"><br><br>I finally finished cross stitching this little Bird in Hand chart by Blackbird Designs.</div><div><img id="id_6a33_a90_3007_441a" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/P5jPi_AXh183CgwtLJ8fD2J6MgEZI7VrAYfTLPhPwrqJDvS-MULrfwI0InmBwKs" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 353px; height: auto;"><br>I love this piece, but didn’t enjoy the stitching. The problem was the linen. I pulled it from the scrap bin and it honestly felt rubbery when handling it. Also, the coverage was terrible with one thread , so I had to use two over two. My first couple of tries made me wonder if perhaps I had lost the skills necessary for this craft which I had once adored. I had certainly lost the ability to see those high counts of linen. But I was determined, and I think I have made good progress. I ended the year with THIRTY FIVE finishes!!!! Now all but six of these were smalls, but hey, I‘ll take it. Six were Samplers, on the small to medium side. </div><div><br></div><div>Below are some of my end of the year finishes.....</div><div><img id="id_20a3_629_bde2_b9c7" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/bg9RZzc_m5mLEF04KH_lLLm3qgcCC9Nr2CoBr6M0dgX7yV8yRyInRjL59xjafj8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 353px; height: auto;"><br>Esther Cannon by Heartstring Samplers.<br><img id="id_71d7_8bec_c0fd_ec0c" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/exz4IlViCETpSs1RFffAWQ5cYwIxwSY7-tHLZUO-rw6EZjYlY6vIgclwlcXXxSQ" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 353px; height: auto;"><br>Julia Fooks by GiGiR.<br><img id="id_cc57_1b2b_3f2c_851a" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/hqdQTWc7-6EQ2LuJsWwkJQENDG_3hU-8uCqMapeX3tL6qIkPdrmbf1xjEnDwZxg" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 353px; height: auto;"><br>Three Christmas smalls by Pineberry Lane that still need FFOing.<br><img id="id_e3c7_ac5d_60d5_e87c" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Xz2gSfqCGE3Ql8cdvmpDcYseYDhX2lJYmJFCiFZmFuqgrH885FWOk1zm_wcI9q8" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 353px; height: auto;"><br>All eight of St Nicholas Prairie Schooler Santas waiting to be FFOed using Vonna’s ornament tag instructions. </div><div><br></div><div>And back from Total Framing, Mary Oakley by Pineberry Lane.<br><img id="id_2fd1_5cce_5a71_2198" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/wLJR6yEQVkRIJj9q0f-kGSXcosLpA2C6YF9cWckxSu8_1kF3psS5ExPbhYbOJeY" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 353px; height: auto;"><br>And Martha Scott by GiGiR.<br><img id="id_681e_9492_4bc7_2962" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/S51jKhExQyKmjCvrC-xN_qohlVdAwnecshHlq8G5RTHAHnocOmHv2K-MjRnrqEQ" alt="" title="" tooltip="" style="width: 353px; height: auto;"><br>Martha may just be my favorite stitch for 2020.
