I Have Composed....

At least a million blog posts in my mind over the past month. Unfortunately, none of them have made it to my blog. So, here I am, mid August...but at least I am here.

I failed to meet my one monthly goal last month, as I have been totally distracted by Glorious Gardens...

I had promised myself that I would finish this very large (90”x90”),  English paper pieced quilt that I started in January of 2017 ...by the end of August.
Let me tell you that it has been a challenge, and I am not quite there yet, but there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel. My friends, Laura and Mary Lou, have also accepted the challenge, and we plan to have show and tell at our monthly meeting on September 1st. I am HOPING to get finished by tonight. Wish me luck.

My rug camp rug has seen very little work....a bit of border and background...

I really like this big rug....why is everything that I make large????...and look forward to getting back to it soon.

Another thing that has kept me busy is putting up veggies and peaches.

Lots of work, but so worth it when we have fresh things from our freezer come winter.

Debi sent me a pic the other day of one of my quilts that she was working on all loaded on the longarm.

Can’t wait to see this one all done. The binding is made and waiting.

We’ve had lots of visitors to this Little Lime hydrangea.

The old hospital folks had their quarterly meeting the end of July.

Always lots of fun.

Hoping to get back into the swing of blogging. So many folks have left their blogs behind for Instagram. I love Instagram, but I still love blogs.

Take Care,
Jennie

  3. We could be twins! If only I could sew or rug hook as fast as I come up with projects! We definitely have lots of others in the same boat if they will just have confession.

  5. The peaches look delicious. While on vacation this month, I had fresh peach pie a few times. Myself and the friends I was staying with at the time, had peach pie for supper the one evening......and that was all we ate.

  6. Oh, those peaches look good! I can't believe the price on them this year. Here in northern Ohio, the farm stand was charging $1 per peach.
Lovin' your hooked rug and the quilt being quilted is a masterpiece!

  7. I have a love/hate relationship with pushing myself to complete a project by a deadline. Sometimes it's just the push I need, other times it drives me nuts and steals any creativity I have. I'm sure that doesn't happen to you, Jennie. Your quilt looks great and I hope you're able to finish it by the end of August.

I love your rug in progress. The mottled background is beautiful. I think rug hooking must be closer to painting than other ways we use fabric. It seems like you can "blend" colors.

I like your quote. It's too true for me!
